![]() It was very grindy, as you had to use your skills to level them and do more damage, as well as level your actual character, getting items, etc. World PvP was forced on in every zone and town but the very biggest city. ![]() It was an Asian themed mmo with a top down view (think Diablo camera placement) cool classes and abilities. pay to progress at obscene rates compared to normal players. It's incredibly P2W now, though when I played it was more. Don't really know if it was obscure or not since I didn't browse forums back then. Loong (my first MMORPG - if i remember correctly, and i still got visions of it being perfect, occasional nostalgia kicks in)Ĭonquer Online. C9 (not that 'unknown', but still a niche game) ![]() Destiny of Ancient Kingdoms (African MMORPG, still online, but i havent seen a single soul since 2016 - i tried it again few months ago) Trinium Wars (i dont know too much behind it, but i played it a bit, closed few years ago as well) Metal Reaper Online (closed few years ago, i actually found it quite unique, like Diablo with guns) Here are some i recall (there are more, but i need to look them up): They arent the small indie games, but MMOs which take longer time to develop and servers to run on, even if they are cookie cutters most of time. Trying to bring anyone to play these games along is completely impossible, since it would essentially be playing a Coop game with MMO mechanics/economics, which isnt very often desirable, besides that there are too many good games out there nowadays to spend time on these.īut what is fascinating the most is that people spent time developing these games, and no one even knows most of them exist. However, in the end i didnt really spend much time in them, few hours at most for each, just to see if someone else would appear to be playing. It kinda felt like small world which was hidden away so well, and that only way for me to discover its secrets is playing through it, since i couldnt find anything about its higher level content on internet, but what makes it different from single player game, is that you can share your achievements and progress there in case some stranger appeared somehow. I always found it fascinating, there are so many of these, so many MMORPGs that are still online, even today, which you can spend hours in without seeing a single player. I have been going through dozens of Steam's pages for few years now in attempt to play every MMO-MMORPG there is, and when i got too lost to care or too tired to search there, i went onto mmo websites which categorized a lot of different MMOs.
